CM&E is the ideal debut course for anyone seeking to start a formal career in project monitoring and evaluation and obtain accredited certification. Experience or previous University education is NOT a prerequisite. A minimum of 5 “O” levels with English Language is the basic requirement to apply for the course. Adult learners above 30 years without 5 “O” levels but with several years of proven project monitoring and evaluation experience and other qualifications may be considered as mature entrants if they apply to do the CM&E course. The course has a duration of a minimum of six months to one
year. Examinations are available in June and November each year in HRE & BYO. The CM&E course is fully accredited and registered with the Zimbabwe Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education. CM&E course is available for both conventional and online.
Structure and Scope:
OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE
At the end of the course participants should be able to:
a) Design a complete and feasible work based project monitoring and evaluation framework.
b) Establish project implementation processes for a given work based project
c) Develop effective project monitoring and evaluation skills within a controlled project
d) understand the global principles and practices of the fundamental project monitoring and evaluation tools and techniques.
COURSE MODULES
4 KEY UNIT MODULES (At least 120hrs per module).
MODULE 1: INTRODUCTION TO PROJECT MANAGEMENT [IPM01]
MODULE 2: PRINCIPLES OF PROJECT MONITORING AND EVALUATION [PPME02].
MODULE 3: QUALITATIVE EVALUATION TECHNIQUES [QLET03].
MODULE 4: QUANTITATIVE EVALUATION TECHNIQUES [QTET04].
Timing and Duration:
The course is available to any qualifying person in or outside Zimbabwe through conventional in class learning or online training. PMZ CM&E course is available at accredited training centers. Regardless of where the student is based, the course should take around six to twelve months to complete.
